Three-time rise in ICSE exam fee

Ranchi, Aug. 3: A threefold increase has been proposed in the examination fee structure of ICSE schools.

The examination fees have been hiked from Rs 550 to Rs 2,150, which will be effective from this year after the decision was taken during the two-day zonal meet of ICSE schools.

At the meeting, it was also decided that the ICSE schools would adopt new method for registration and declaration of examination result.

Moreover, there will also be a hike in the fee structure of school staff.

The decision was taken during the meeting attended by ICSE board’s joint secretary Jerry Arthon with 100 ICSE school principals held at St Ashish School in Bihar’s Bhagalpur recently.

City-based school principals like Father Ajit Khess (St Xavier’s School), Sister Goretti (Loreto Convent), Sister Mary (Sacred Heart) and Father Manoj (St Francis school) were also present.

The ICSE schools, which have to follow the norms, are Sacred Heart Convent, St Thomas School, Dhurwa; St Xavier’s school, Loreto Convent, Bishop Westcott Girls’ School, Bishop School, Bishop Westcott Boys’ School and Bishop Westcott Girls’ School, Namkum.

Father Khess said that there would also be a change in the examination pattern by the board.

“Exhaustive profile will be prepared of each students and their examination result will be known by the code. The code will be known by the student only,” he added.

Father Manoj, the principal of St Francis School, said that the decision was taken by the board regarding the hike in fee structure.

“It was pointed out that after 1998, there was no change made by the board in the examination fee,” he added.
