Jamshedpur, Sept. 26: Shoppers of steel city have a new, albeit temporary, shopping address — Consumex 2010.
The four-day shopping festival, which entered its second day at Tulsi Bhavan today, has fast become the one-stop shopping destination for city residents, who are splurging before Durga Puja.
Shoppers have reasons to cheer. Be it apparels or accessories, bed linen or artwork or even a toy, the fair has something for everyone.
Organised by the local chapter of Marwari Mahila Manch, Consumex boasts 75 kiosks across two floors.
The fair aims to give a platform to women entrepreneurs to display their creations and saw the participation of many women’s associations from Calcutta, Chakradharpur, Ranchi, Dhanbad, Madhupur and Darbhanga.
“It is a one-stop shop for women. You get everything under one roof without having to run to different shops. One can pick up the best designs of the season,” said Sumitra Parikh, a visitor.
“The fair is known for its uniqueness. Footfall is very high and I can safely say that it is a success,” said the organisation’s joint secretary Prabha Padeya, of Marwari Mahila Manch.
