
Parents can now get entry-level admission forms for their tiny tots at the click of the mouse.
Several ICSE schools in the capital have decided to go paperless and upload forms online for the 2017-18 academic session.
St Xavier's School in Doranda will upload forms on their website - www.stxaviersschool.com - on October 27 for admission to prep.
Forms will be available till November 1.
"Parents can download the form from the website, fill it up and submit it at the school. We do not want them to stand in long queues in front of our office counters," principal Father Ajit Xess said.
The age limit for applying is between four-and-a-half-years and five years. Documents such as photocopies of birth certificate, residential proof and two photos are required at the time of admission.
This year, the school has also constituted a grievance cell, comprising nine members, to address various admission-related queries and doubts of parents.
St Francis School in Harmu, which is also going paperless this year, will upload forms for admission to nursery and KG on their website on November 1. Forms will be available till the first week of December.
"Last year, there were long queues on campus for admission and it was difficult to control the crowd. So, this year we will upload all admission-related information on our portal stfrancisranchi.com after October 15," said principal Father Manoj Kumar Kullu, adding that parents had one month's time to visit the school for form submission.
Similarly, St Mary School in Doranda will upload forms online in January next year for admission to LKG.
"Parents for the sake of their children leave their office and household work to stand in queues since 5am. But, this year, they have been informed to download forms online," a school official said.
St Anthony's School in Doranda, however, will hand out forms for admission to KG from their office on October 26, 27 and 28, as they are yet to develop their website.
"We will issue a notice about the documents required at the time of admission," said an official.
CBSE schools in Ranchi are, however, yet to decide the dates of issuing forms.
DPS principal Ram Singh said that it was too early to take a call on form distribution now. "Most probably, we will do it after Durga Puja," said Singh when asked when they would issue forms for admission to prep.
Principal of Surendranath Centenary School Samita Sinha also said that they would hand out forms after the festival was over.
