Ranchi, Jan. 10: Local video films and song albums with the ?Nagpuria? tag, fail to attract viewers.
This is because Nagpuria films are considered to be for and by tribal youths. But with more Nagpuria films and videos coming up with non-tribal actors, they are getting a much-needed boost, said Kale Dil Churale director Manoj Chanchal before the screening of the album
The opinion came forward when Conta Computers, a local production house, arranged for a private screening of the Nagpuri video album Kale Dil Churale, here today. The recent video album, directed and edited by Manoj Chanchal, has many non-tribal faces.
General viewers find it difficult not only to associate with Nagpuri films but also accept it as universal films. .
?People start associating local filmmakers with those of Bollywood. They forget that the film industry in the state is in its nascent stage and will take time to emerge successful. Local artistes are not given much importance here but if the same people do wonders in Bollywood, people throng them for a single glance. There are many examples who have struggled for years and come up with flying colours,? said Rishi Prakash Mishra secretary of Federation of Jharkhand Artists? Association.
Raman Gupta, Sonia Chawla are the leading pairs while Jimmy, Archana, Bobby Ranjana, Hrishi Malakar and Rahul dance to the melodious tunes in the album.
The album comprises six Nagpuri songs composed by Jayant Srikant. The songs were sung by Kumar Tannu, Monika and David.
Raman, who has more than 15 films and albums to his credit, feels that there is lack of good directors and technicians.
