Jamshedpur, July 6: The state chapter of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) today organised a daylong seminar on key managerial skills at the Centre for Excellence.
Over 40 officers from different companies in the Adityapur Industrial Area participated in the event, which was aimed at enhancing the managerial skills of frontline executives, managers and supervisors in small and medium-scale enterprises in order to enable them to meet global competition.
Chandreshwar Khan of Tata Motors and D.D. Pathak of Tata Steel were the two key speakers in the event and both underlined the responsibility of the executives in getting the workers acquainted with modern trends and latest technological developments for the overall growth of the company.
Speaking at the inaugural function Khan stressed on the need to transform frontline executives into expert managers who are successfully able to translate their vision into action with the help of workers.
?Frontline executives have the responsibility of getting the maximum out of the workers and meet the goal set by the company,? said Khan, adding that production of any company depends largely on the skill of its frontline officer.
Khan whose experience spans three decades also shared his personal experience on the practical challenges that a frontline executive has to face in order to meet the expectation of the company.
The experts also informed the participants about the importance of time management, advance planning, a congenial atmosphere at workplace and a smooth coordination between workers and the management.
They also emphasised on the need for courses to upgrade the skills of the officers as well as the workers.
During the seminar the experts also interacted with the participants individually and armed them with valuable tips to maximise the potential of the workers.
They also gave pointers about the areas of improvement for each participant.
