Jamshedpur, Oct. 4: Within 10 days of her return from the asylum in Ranchi, Sudeepa Bose today knocked the doors of judiciary in search of justice.
Flanked by social activists Alpana Bhattacharya and Abhijit Das, the frail lady visited the court of the chief judicial magistrate this morning to begin a legal battle against her kins, who had allegedly misappropriated her properties her parents had left behind.
She stayed at the courtroom for about half-an-hour and returned home soon after the complaint was filed.
In her complaint, the 27-year-old woman has sought for the court?s help in lodging a case against her aunt and cousin brother, Manju Bose and Sudipta Bose, respectively, in the police station concerned so that the duo may face trial in a court of law.
According to the complaint, soon after the demise of her mother in May 2004 (her father passed away in 2001), her aunt had visited their house and had taken her away to their house at Pramothnagar in Parsudih, ostensibly to rescue her from loneliness and depression.
But, according to the complaint, she was kept in a dingy room in the most unhygienic of conditions and regularly subject to inhuman treatment. She would allegedly be thrashed after she would refuse to sign cheques, as demanded by her aunt and cousin.
She was also, as the complaint went, barred from meeting her uncle Late Subimolendu Dey, who had come all the way from Calcutta. Moreover, the Parsudih police station, she mentioned, had not paid heed to her uncle?s plea after he asked them to take steps to put an end to the atrocities.
According to the complaint, it was only when Abhijit Das, a well-wisher, came to know of her plight, he got in touch with the administration and she was rescued.
At the behest of Nitin Madan Kulkarni, the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum, the executive magistrate, Ranjana Mishra, arranged for Sudeepa?s treatment.
Ultimately, the victim was cured and returned to her Air-base Colony house on September 24.
When contacted, one of the social activists, told The Telegraph that the complainant had to file the complaint for getting back the money and gold ornaments, which the accused had grabbed.
