XLRI's famous MAXI Fair will strike a green note this year.

The 38th edition of the fair, being held on January 14 and 15 by the Marketing Association of XLRI, Jamshedpur, popularly known as MAXI, will test people on their awareness about the environment and what they do to save the planet. This is the second year that the B-School will try to read consumer behaviour at the fair that is expected to draw more than 8,000 people.

"This will mainly be an academic research that will try to read consumer behaviour vis-à-vis conserving the environment through daily acts. We say a lot but we hardly care about the environment. So, we expect this research to help us get some concrete results related to the usage of eco-friendly products and behaviour," said Purabi Mohanty, a first-year business management student of XLRI.

MAXI Fair, like every year, will popularise the discipline of marketing. The event will witness students conducting research in disguise for various firms to study trends in market. The research will be conducted on thousands of attendees through elaborate games designed by the students.

The event will also be an entertainment hotspot as rapper Raftaar and stand-up comedian Sunil Pal will perform on January 14 and 15, respectively. A fashion show for kids, Mrs and Miss Jamshedpur, a group dance competition and a painting competition are on the cards too.

A photography competition started on January 9. Participants will be judged on the number of likes on Facebook.
