For the eleventh year in succession, Sananda, the women’s magazine published in Bengali and Oriya by the ABP Group, publishers of The Telegraph, has been holding pageants to discover the perfect blend of beauty, poise, talent and glamour. Some of the participants who went on to make a name for themselves are Bipasha Basu, Celina Jaitley and Koena Mitra.
The preliminary rounds this year are being held at Guwahati, Shillong and Jamshedpur, besides Calcutta, to afford an opportunity to aspiring models and actors from the region to try their luck. Only 20 finalists will make it to the pageant but not before they put in a month’s rigorous training.
Supermodel Noyonika Chatterjee will help groom them and they will also visit the VLCC gym and attend sessions on skin-care, hair care, make-up and diction. Their lives, one can say from past experience, will never be the same again.
As the countdown begins for the Dabur Gulabari Sananda Tilottama 2007, this is an open invitation to all young women with the right look and talent and with loads of attitude to report at Jamshedpur on April 15.
The finalists will vie for titles of Miss Beautiful Eyes, Miss Beautiful Hair, Miss Perfect 10 and the swimsuit round at the sub contests to be held at Vedic Village on the outskirts of Calcutta.
