Gautam Sharma (Gyan Bharti Residential Complex, Bodh Gaya) and Vidhi Rawal (Jamshedpur Public School) emerged fastest athletes by claiming top slots in 100m sprint in the Under-17 boys' and girls' categories, respectively, on Day II of CBSE (Cluster III) Inter-school Athletics Championship at Sumant Moolgaokar Stadium in Jamshedpur on Friday.

Gautam tripped Sonu Kumar Baitha of Vidyanand Kendriya Vidhyalaya, Siwan, and Sagar Kumar of Gyan Bharti Public School, Gaya, who finished third. Vidhi, on the other hand, beat Somaya Fatma (St Joseph's Academy, Bihar Sharif) and third placed Ridhima Singh of Rotterdam Academy, Patliputra).

The 1500m competition in the Under-19 age group for boys' and eves' saw Anurag Kumar (DPS, Bokaro) and Sarita Kumari proving their mettle with elan.

Around 1,300 boys and girls from Jharkhand and Bihar are competing in the four-day championship being organised by Vidya Bharti Chinmaya Vidyalaya.
