Five cricketers from Jharkhand will go under the hammer at the 2016 edition of Indian Premier league (IPL) auction in Bangalore on Saturday.
Ishank Jaggi, Virat Singh, Ishan Kishan, Rahul Shukla and Jaskaran Singh must be keeping their fingers crossed with hopes of displaying their prowess at the slam-bang version of the game to be held from April 9 to May 29.
Base price of these players is Rs 10 lakh. Jharkhand's Saurabh Tiwary and Shahbaz Nadeem have been retained by Delhi Daredevils while Royal Challengers Bangalore have kept faith in Varun Aaron.
Jaggi, Virat, Shukla and Jaskaran are currently playing for Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy quarter-finals against Mumbai in Mysore while Ishan is captaining India in the ongoing ICC U-19 World Cup in Bangladesh.
Virat, Ishan and Jaskaran will be making their debut in the IPL if picked by the franchises.
Jaggi, a batting mainstay who has been in good nick this season for Jharkhand, had turned out for Deccan Chargers in the 2012 edition of the IPL while steel city's Shukla has been released by Delhi Daredevils.
Jaskaran, a left-arm pacer from Jamshedpur, bowled well in Ranji matches this season.
Jamshedpur-based Virat, who missed the Team India bus to the U-19 World Cup, has turned out for Jharkhand in Ranji and T20 tourneys. The left-hander has quick reflexes.
Wicketkeeper Ishan's performance at U-19 World Cup will be the key in estimating his worth in terms of IPL money. Saurabh will be joining the Delhi Daredevils training camp after his marriage on February 25.
The left-hander is in top form and is looking forward to let his broad willow talk in the IPL too. "Yes, I have always loved playing the IPL and would like to make an impression right away," he had said during the Ranji training at Keenan Stadium last month.
