Ranchi, Dec. 17: The cabinet today agreed to revise the salaries of ministers, the leader of Opposition, party whips in the Assembly and employees of the House.
The cabinet meeting was hurriedly convened at the chief minister’s residence.
“The revised pay structure would be available after the amendment bills are passed by the legislature. The cabinet agreed to amend the Jharkhand Legislators (Pay, Perks and Pension) Act of 2001, Jharkhand Ministers (Pay and Perks) Act of 2001, Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha Leader of Opposition (Pay and Perks) Act of 2001, Jharkhand Legislature Party Whips (Pay and Perks) Act of 2001 and Jharkhand Assembly Officials (Pay and Perks) Act of 2001,” said cabinet secretary N.N. Pandey.
The cabinet also approved over Rs 127.84 crore for the Jharnet project to facilitate e-governance at the grassroots.
The mounted military police force is being constituted to effectively maintain law and order. Over Rs 15.88 lakh was approved to purchase horses and fodder and cover other such expenses. Another Rs 98 lakh would be spent per annum on wages of this force.
Gearing up for the National Games next year, the cabinet also sanctioned additional posts of an assistant director, a computer operator and a peon in the sports, culture and youth affairs department.
JSEB was granted land to set up a power substation in Ghatshila block of East Singhbhum. The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan was given 2.5 acres of gair majarua khas land free for a Kendriya Vidyalaya in Dhanbad.
