Zinta to zizzle no more!

Preity has taken a leaf out of Priyanka’s conduct book. Pri Chops had started scanning her pix before handing them out for publicity and made sure that none of them were remotely ‘explosive’. That was after Andaaz went on to become a hit (because of her explosive wardrobe, if you please!) and she knew she need not go down sleaze lane anymore. Now she was artiste, not aspiring star, you know, and time to play coy and look for meaningful roles. But whatever happened to Zizzling Zinta? She has of late been barking out directives to her PR people that no publicity photographs showing even an inch of her celebrity cleavage should be handed out. As it is, she’s turning into a female Aamir, with select films and select appearances. Her ready-for-release film is a comedy, Salaam Namaste, opposite Saif and she has just one more, opposite Salman ? Shirish Kunder’s Jaan-e-Man. And the shooting of the latter has hit a speedbreaker after Sallu’s tele-tape controversy. Why this sudden bout of prudery from Preity, we dunno. Meanwhile, late reports from the recent IFFA Awards in Amsterdam say that she was quite an item with Dino Morea there! And what about Ness Wadia? We Dino!

 

Yanaji, zara dheere chalo!

Yana Gupta’s marriage (how convenient) of four years with painter Satyakam Gupta is over. She has declared on her personal website: “The reasons for this are far too personal to discuss in the public domain.” So now that her “very supportive” hubby is no longer around (when was he, anyway, dahlings, Yana herself eulogised his faith in her and in the long-distance marriage), it seems Aftab Shivdasani has moved in to fill the void. God knows which came first, the chicken or the egg. But they are busy cosying up at lounge bars and places. Aftab is delirious with the attention. “I didn’t know Yana before, but I know her now. I am very uncomfortable discussing my personal life. Let’s talk about my work instead.” Work? What! Is he still working?
