Lahore, Dec. 27 (PTI): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today wore a pinkturban gifted to him by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his granddaughter's wedding reception, a source at his Jati Umrah residence said.
Modi had gifted the pink turban during his Lahore stopover on Friday, the source added. Wearing it shows Sharif's "sincere intention" and also that he "values" the gift from the Indian Prime Minister, the source added.
The Modi government has said that the decision to drop by in Lahore on the way back from Kabul was taken on the spur of the moment to wish Sharif personally on his birthday.
