Mahatma Gandhi Road, also known as Main Road, in Ranchi wears a peaceful look on Wednesday, a day after inter-community clashes left six persons injured.

Ranchi police have initiated the process of lodging FIRs in connection with the violence during Hanuman Jayanti celebrations on Tuesday afternoon after members of rival communities filed complaints.

Security in the capital has also been beefed up in the wake of the four-day state visit of VHP's international president Praveen Togadia beginning Thursday.

Around 40 Mobile Tiger units and 200 security personnel on foot patrolled the vulnerable stretch between Rajendra Chowk and Albert Ekka Chowk.
