WhatsApp has just enabled video calling. Here’s a t2 wish list for the app we use the most every day.
Photo recognition: Since Facebook owns WhatsApp, they could extend facial recognition to this app as well. This will help us keep our phones organised since received pictures will get classified by the people in them.
Choice: WhatsApp should ask our permission before adding us to a group. It will save us the awkwardness of being put in a group we don’t want to be in but can’t get out of.
Single-chat lock: While third-party applications can lock the entire app, a single-chat lock will allow us to choose which conversations we want to protect from prying eyes.
Audio conference calls: Messenger already has group calling, it’s time WhatsApp had it too.
DP protection: Others should not be able to save our display pictures on their devices. Very creepy and totally unnecessary.
Screenshot alert: Every time someone screenshots our chat, we want an alert. Snapchat has it, WhatsApp should too. However, people who want to forward chats can still find a way to bypass this as WhatsApp lets you forward messages separately.
List of DP views: How many times have you received WhatsApp missed calls from random people “by mistake”? Chances are high that they were checking out your DP, as the call button is right next to it on Android phones.
Tick turn off: WhatsApp allows us the option of turning off the “seen notification” but not for group chats. We want the turn-off option for groups as well.
