Vegetarian + Molecular dessert + Lounge = Nawwarah

Colourful quirk best describes the interiors of the upstairs lounge at Nawwarah. The decor is a mix of vibrant prints and Middle Eastern motifs. The highlight: two swings right next to huge windows make for the perfect picture corner. “The name is derived from the Arabic word ‘nawwarah’, which means newborn. It suits the project as this is a first for us in the upscale dining space. A dear friend of mine had a sister named Nawwarah who passed away, so the name is also an ode to her,” said Kunal Gupta, co-owner of Om Ganpati Caterers, co-owners of popular dine dens such as Kaidi Kitchen and Tyre Patty.

Every element in the 46-seater restaurant on the ground floor speaks of opulence — right from the velvet-covered couches to the intricate detailing on the ceiling and the cascading chandeliers.

Despite experimenting with modern Indian cuisine, the menu still has the good ol’ staples like Pind Da Chana, which is pindi chana made with achari spices. Pocket pinch: Rs 251 (plus taxes).

The Lucknowi Tunde Kebab, made of yam, cashew nuts and browned onions, emulate the taste of the famous Tunday kebabs of Lucknow. Pocket pinch: Rs 215 (plus taxes).
