Who’s dating Alia Bhatt?
The episode started off with host Karan Johar revealing that Arjun Kapoor and Varun Dhawan — who he introduced as “quintessential filmi bachchas” — have been “close friends” for years.
Arjun Kapoor: He (Varun) is my brother from another mother.
Varun Dhawan: We are friends from before we entered the film line. Arjun has an immense amount of emotion for me. He is protective about me… he is possessive about me and I know he looks out for me, in his own way.... There have been a few ups and downs in our friendship, and I know it’s an honest friendship and not just for the camera.
KJo: Arjun, you don’t feel bad when his films do well?
AK: I have never looked at him as competition. Anyway, him doing badly is not going to make me do better!
KJo: There were rumours of the two of you dating Alia Bhatt. Did that come in the way of the friendship?
VD: I was never dating her! She’s always been a very close friend of mine….
KJo: But there was an awkwardness between you and Arjun regarding Alia…
VD: It happened with Sidharth (Malhotra) also…
AK: Tere saath yeh bahut hota hai! You are such a cutie na that girls come gravitating towards you (laughs).
KJo (to Arjun): Were you dating Alia?
AK: No, we didn’t date… we just did a film (2 States) where our chemistry went into overdrive where the PR was concerned.
KJo: So who was Alia dating?
VD: That guy, na?
AK: Yeh waala ya woh waala?
VD: Ali from Dubai...
KJo: So she wasn’t dating Sidharth Malhotra?
AK: I will be happy for her whoever she dates!
Sex? Have it!
KJo: So Arjun, you are single?
AK: I am. I am at that stage of my life where I don’t know if I am ready for commitment.
KJo: So what do you do for sex?
AK: Have it!
[Varun was non-committal about his relationship status, even when probed about rumoured girlfriend Natasha Dalal. He initially described her as “a close friend” who he knows since school, but ended the episode confessing that he’s “very happy” in his current relationship.]
KJo: Do you have romance in your life?
VD: I have love… I have romance… I am doing everything that someone my age would be doing…
KJo: Doing everything… or doing everyone?!

KJo: Varun, do you think you are a bigger star than Arjun?
VD: Yes… and he knows that too.
KJo: Arjun, do you think you have a bigger penis than Varun?
AK: I am pretty sure of that!

The highlight of the episode was KJo digging up an old short film, starring Varun and Arjun. Directed and scripted by Varun, the short — called White Mountain — was a riot. What was even more fun? Karan directing V-A in a sequence on set where they had to act like two gay men in a bar.
They also confessed that they did a load of roles in acting class — father and son, nariyaalpaani wala and waiter and… master and dog!
Arjun’s name for Varun? Ajgar Jurrat (yes, Amrish Puri’s name in Vishwatma)! Reason? “Yeh dassta hai!”
