UP AND CLOSE AT VALENTINE CARNIVAL, WITH T2

Afraa in City Centre, Salt Lake, was chock-a-block on February 14  as couples trooped in to spend time together. The DJ belted out chartbusters and the dance floor was soon full of lovebirds. Those craving a quiet corner headed for the open-air tables on the seventh floor balcony overlooking the mall. The Valentine’s Day dinner spread had a special menu and the decor too was designed to please.

“I didn’t have a Valentine this year so went partying with friends,” said Debosmita Bose, seen here with friend Pritam Chowdhury. Debosmita had come to Salt Lake all the way from Howrah as she thinks Afraa is the best place to party.

Most of the items on the V-Day dinner buffet made use of the colour red to ring in the romantic angle. The pizza had strawberry toppings and the Lemongrass-Flavoured Lasagna with Red Curry Vegetables and Coconut Bechamel Sauce (above left) was garnished with rose petals.

For cocktails there was the vodka-and-cranberry juice concoction Love@Arfaa (above right), with a rose stem dipped, and Romantic Kiss, a whisky and peach juice-based drink.

DJ Ritzzze was behind the console and played numbers like Ed Sheeran’s Shape Of You and RedOne’s Don’t You Need Somebody. “Lots of lovebirds have come today and it’s a fab crowd,” he said.

GROOVING TO ROMANTIC BEATS AT LOVE IS IN THE AIR, IN ASSOCIATION WITH T2

It was all fun and frolic, hand in hand, at Ecospace on Valentine’s Day as couples celebrated Love is in the Air, presented by Club Eco Vista by Conclave. The moonlit evening started off with a musical show and rounded off with an electric DJ performance. There were sumptuous bites and sips in the middle — along with a lot of mush of course.
