Crisp, clean, classic — James Middleton looked just as the bride’s brother should. The 23-year-old cake-making entrepreneur swapped his white catering coat and traditional baker’s hat for a classic morning suit. Apparently considered the ‘wild child’ of the Middleton family, he shed this image donning a smart black tail coat, pinstriped trousers, an ivory waistcoat and a maroon tie with just the right burst of colour for a clean-cut look.	To wear a morning suit or not to wear a morning suit? The prime minister caused quite a stir when he threatened not to wear tails to the wedding. If he went ahead with this decision, David Cameron would become the first prime minister in history to attend a royal wedding without wearing tails. After much media speculation, he gave in, and looked spot-on. The default setting for traditional English weddings, morning dress consists of striped wool trousers, a wool or linen tail coat and, most importantly, a vest. Taking no chances, the PM followed it to a T.	Sir Elton John was rather simply dressed in a bespoke Richard James suit. Thank god for the pop of purple in his tie and the rings on his fingers! Perhaps the memory of Princess Diana kept his sartorial choices on the sober side — though he arrived at the event in high spirits, the singer appeared a little misty-eyed at one point in the ceremony. His attendance with partner David Furnish marked the first civil partnership to attend a British royal wedding.	Dressed in a stunning gold-brocaded Blues and Royals military outfit, Prince Harry had something of the flamboyant about him. Rumour has it that he was so scared of dropping Kate Middleton’s wedding ring that he wanted a secret pocket built into his uniform to carry it. But Harry’s Blues outfit was so tight that the tailors, Kashket and Partners, were unable to incorporate one into the design and worked with the prince to come up with a unique gold-embroidered cuff which could be attached to his jacket. Sewn inside was a secret compartment in which the precious ring could be kept safe. What a cheeky chappie!	Bending the football is one thing but to frequently look like he’s stepped straight off an Armani advert? Hats off to David Beckham, who brought with him a bit of Hollywood glamour in a Ralph Lauren morning suit, a super-chic hairdo and a Philip Treacy top hat. The nattily dressed footballer did, however, make a small boo-boo. He arrived at Westminster Abbey proudly wearing his OBE medal on his right lapel — it’s traditionally worn on the left side. Someone must have had a quiet word because before the ceremony had even begun, Becks had switched it over to the other side!
