Oh young love! The way Mike looked at Eleven when they were reunited after almost a year apart made our tween hearts sing. Mike never gave up on finding Eleven in what he thought was the Upside Down and Eleven counted down the days till she could see Mike again. Their Snow Ball dance made us sigh. The best part is their innocence, which makes us nostalgic about the warm fuzzy feeling of first love.

The Klaine love story is woven in a fairy tale of music and magic. Right from the beginning with Blaine singing Teenage Dream the first time he meets Kurt to serenading him with Beatles classic All You Need Is Love in a magnificent marriage proposal, they were all about love, friendship and overcoming boundaries. If anyone’s meant to belong together forever, it’s them.

Carrie’s biggest mistake was choosing Mr Big over Aidan. Why would you want to be with a man who is cold and likes to have meaningless sex, rather than a sensitive, forgiving and understanding boyfriend?! Whenever we see Carrie and Aidan together on screen, some part of us always wishes that Carrie would just wake up and realise that Aidan is the better man who loves her more than she deserves. Where would you find a man who loves your flaws and is super considerate towards your best friends? WHERE?!

If we are going to talk about love on television we cannot miss the epic story of Jamie and Claire. A love that spans centuries, survives decades apart, lives through (presumed) death and still remains as powerful and intense as it was in the beginning, even if the beginning was a force of circumstances, is worth drooling over.

Stefan and Caroline were “epic”, even when overshadowed by the passion, lust and sizzle of Damon and Elena. We started shipping them since Stefan helped Caroline come to terms with her vampire identity. They always brought out the best in each other and were there to save each other during the “bloodaholic-humanity-switch-off” phase. And the magical wedding made us realise that these two generous, pure hearts were always meant to be together.

High school sweethearts to husband and wife, Seth and Summer were the definition of the childhood sweethearts phenomenon. We really don’t mind the cliched storyline of a geek having a crush on the unattainable girl, and ending up marrying her. This adorable couple kept us going back for more.

Derek Shepherd made us melt when he said things like, “You were like coming up for fresh air, like I was drowning, but you saved me” to Meredith, who was the perfect match for McDreamy. From tear-jerking romantic gestures, like Meredith outlining their dream house with candles and Derek’s intimate elevator proposal, to being with each other till the very end, we mourn the fact that we will never see them grow old together. Why do perfect relationships like this have such heart-wrenching endings?!

What happens when a British gentleman meets a sophisticated British lady? Fireworks, of course! Though Lady Mary seemed snobbish and uptight, Matthew brought out the best in her. Set against the backdrop of World War I, the drama unfolding between the two had us hooked for six seasons. Our favourite moment is Matthew’s proposal in the snow.

Betty and Archie may have been the traditional OTP (one true pairing) and we may have started out Riverdale shipping them, but the minute Betty and Jughead kissed, we knew we had found the ship we most wanted to sail. Betty’s wholesomeness and Jughead’s bad-boy vibe makes for a sizzling combination. We loved how they always thought of the other first, even if it meant breaking up to keep the other safe. We know that they will end up where they are meant to be — right next to each other.
There is something special about a friendship that blooms into love and these two showed us that sometimes love might be right next to you the whole time. You just have to open your eyes and your mind to realise it. They are the perfect example of opposites making a go of it. They are our #CoupleGoals, even now.
