NOCTURNE

Next time you have a lit night at Nocturne on Shakespeare Sarani and are not in a state to get behind the wheel, book an Ola from the kiosk at the entrance. So what happens to your car? Well, it will stay in the club’s parking lot. “As we have a huge parking area, the car will be safe and the owner can either take their car the following day or send their driver over with proper authorisation,” said Anshuman Singh of Nocturne.

Average cab booking at night? Twenty a month!

User speak: “The Rs 100 discount card at Nocturne is a good way to make people take an Ola drop. Many people maybe apprehensive initially but offering a discount will make them try it. I have used it a few times and it’s quite hassle-free,” said businessman Siddhartha Sharma.

BLACK LOUNGE

Black lounge on Robinson Street is the latest to get on the night car bandwagon with Ola. “This has generated a lot of curiosity among the guests. Once we show them the easy booking procedure, many people are opting for it. In the last one month, we have seen booking for around 10 cabs at night here. And around 25-30 from the five places where we are running the campaign —  Whats In D Name, Monkey Bar, Nocturne, The Fan Club and Black lounge,” said Ashutosh Mishra, an Ola representative.

MYX

Myx, the party pad off Park Street, started Uber services in the first week of May. Find their kiosk right at the entrance to the lobby. “Uber has started UberBADD, which stands for ‘Bars Against Drunk Driving’ and we totally support it. We are happy to see guests slowly availing the service. We see four-five bookings on weekends,” said Ritesh Shrivastava of Myx.

THE GRID

The Grid in Topsia has also tied up with Uber and is a part of the UberBADD campaign. “There has been a marked change in the attitude of guests who don’t want to drink and drive. Our valet drivers alert us if a guest is not in a state to drive and then we explain and request them to take the cab service for their safety. While many people do it on their own, some do it out of fear of cops conducting alcohol tests,” said Tanmoy Roy of The Grid. The gastro-pub keeps track of the guests availing the service as well as taking care of their car if they are leaving it behind. What’s more? “We will be getting the breathalyser by this month and will start a driver-on-call service,” added Tanmoy.

WIDN

Whats In D Name (WIDN), the pub on Camac Street, tied up with Ola a few months back. “Since we cater to a younger crowd, we always want our guests to party to the fullest and go home safe and so we started the service. Now with the #PeekayMatChala campaign, the guests are more aware, and in a month we have seen 100 bookings by youngsters who don’t commute in their own car,” said Anshuman Singh of WIDN.
