The first stop of a food and wine fiesta, being celebrated across restaurants in seven Indian cities by Four Seasons Wines, took over Afraa restaurant in City Centre Salt Lake recently. “The idea is to create a menu and pair Four Seasons wines with them in such a way that the guests experience the best of our wines and food to go with,” explained Abhay Kewadkar, chief wine maker and business head for the wine brand, in town to kick off the Four Seasons Gourmet Indulgence.
The Calcutta leg of the fest at Afraa saw a small sit-down dinner and a taste of things to come on the menu, available a la carte for guests from now on “with more than 10 kinds of Four Seasons wine”.

And now, the Indian wine industry is mature. We are seeing more of reserve wines (wine that’s aged and of a higher quality). The Indian wine drinker who’d be buying entry level imported wine, now can opt for better quality wine at the same price point,” said Kewadkar.
