Apple beats

On May 28, the world heard $3 billion drop into rapper Dr Dre’s kitty as Apple acquired headphone maker Beats Electronic.

Some believe that the deal has much to do with getting the company’s co-founder Jimmy Iovine on board, who is also chairman of the music company Interscope Geffen A&M — the home to Eminem, Fergie, Lana Del Rey and Lady Gaga. “I’ve always known in my heart that Beats belonged with Apple,” Iovine said in a statement.
