Expect: Quite an elaborate buffet spread that starts with Doodh Kathaler Ghol and moves on to Jhuri Chicken Pakoda, Maachher Patishapta and Echorer Cutlet, all before you can get to the main course. For that, expect Potoler Dolma, Begun Basanti, Koraishutir Dhoka, Kasha Mangsho, Doi Murgi and Kakrar Jhol. Work your way down to the six kinds of desserts including Aamer Rasmalai and Kathaler Rabri.

Pocket pinch: Rs 1,250-plus for lunch; and Rs 1,500-plus for dinner.

Expect: Two special thalas, apart from ‘Jamai-specials’ like Potol Dom, Mochar Paturi, Chitol Petir Jhal, Boro Golda Malai Curry and Ilish Kacha Jhol. The Jamai Abhyarthana Thala includes rice or Pulao, luchi or kochuri, shukto or alur dom, five types of bhaja, dal of the day, three items from the veg menu, chutney, papor, dessert and paan. The menu is the same for the Jamai Jamjamat Thala, except you can choose one item from the veg menu and three from the non-veg menu.

Pocket pinch: Rs 610-plus and Rs 900-plus for the veg and non-veg thalas respectively.

When: Till June 8, noon-11pm

Expect: Dawat-e-Jamai Sashthi will serve up two platters — mutton or chicken — comprising Awadhi biryani, kebabs and curries, paratha and naan, raita and green chutney. Each platter serves four. There’s Mango Firni to end your meal with.

When: On June 4, 12.30pm-2.45pm and 7.30pm-11.45pm

Expect: Set veg and non-veg platters with Gondhoraj Aloo Posto, Koraishutir Pulao, luchi and chapatti, Sona Muger Dal as staples on both. On the vegetarian menu, the stars are Koraishuti-stuffed Aloo Tikki, Bharwan Anjeer Chhenar Dalna, Mother-in-law’s Bori-crumbled Mochar Ghonto. On the non-veg platter, there’s Posto Lehsooni Tandoori Chingri, Mother-in-law’s Shorshe Ilish Bhapa and Aloo Diye Kochi Pathar Jhol. In either case, you get to finish your meal with a dessert trio of Mishti Doi, Kamalabhog and Mango Mihidana Lasagne along with a fruit platter of Himsagar mangoes, litchi and jackfruit.

Pocket pinch: Rs 900-plus for veg and Rs 1,250-plus for non-veg platters.
