The Devashish Makhija-helmed survival thriller delves into the complexities of survival amidst oppressive societal structures and reflects on the true cost of development. It showcases Manoj in a compelling lead role, navigating the challenges posed by a system that threatens the safety of his child.

Apart from Manoj, Joram features an ensemble cast including Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Smita Tambe and Tannishtha Chatterjee. The film had a limited theatrical release on December 8.

The Academy's Permanent Core Collection, aimed at fostering research and providing valuable resources for students, filmmakers, writers, actors and cinema enthusiasts, boasts a rich repository of scripts from over 11,000 produced films spanning the years 1910 to the present.

Last year, Nandita Das-helmed Zwigato had earned a spot in the Academy library.
