Serial success: Prosenjit threw a bash to celebrate the 150-episode run of Gaaner Oparey — the STAR Jalsha mega serial produced by his company Ideas — at The Park. The Tolly star is ready with his second venture Takkar, a reality show for Rupashi Bangla. “After the super success of Gaaner Oparey we decided to try non-fiction. Golden moments:The Confederation of Indian Industry feted Goutam Ghose and Prosenjit for Moner Manush’s Golden Peacock win at the 41st International Film Festival of India with a star-studded event at The Oberoi Grand. “The award for Moner Manush is a moment of pride for all of us in Bengal,” said Sanjay Budhia, past chairman, CII (Eastern Region).“Distributors initially released Moner Manush in a handful of halls, thinking that it’s a niche film. But the demand went up from the third week and the film was released in a lot of other theatres,” said Prosenjit, who plays Lalan Fakir in the Indo-Bangladesh co-production. “Moner Manush is doing well in both Bangladesh and Bengal. I have always maintained that Bengali films have an overseas market. This is just the beginning. I hope we can release our films in Bangladesh in future,” said Ghose.Pictures by Aranya Sen
