Come November, Sherlyn Chopra will become the first Indian on the cover of Playboy. The starlet posed in nothing but a pair of high heels for the cover that has previously featured the likes of Marilyn Monroe, Charlize Theron and Bo Derek. A t2 e-mail chat.

Congratulations for being the first Indian to be on the Playboy cover. How did it all happen?

I wrote to Mr (Hugh) Hefner (the head honcho of Playboy Enterprises) in May expressing my desire to be on the cover of his iconic adult magazine. It was indeed kind of him to have responded without any delay in the affirmative. I was super excited!

How long did you spend in Los Angeles for the shoot?

I was there for two weeks prepping and the actual shoot was wrapped up in five days.

What was the experience like?

It was truly liberating. I would like to do it over and over and over again! The creative team, the hair, make-up, accessories, concepts and everything else was simply fabulous.

Were there any special diet or fitness regimen followed for the cover shoot?

I did put on some weight to look voluptuous as most men across the globe prefer meat to bones.

What was Hugh Hefner like?

Mr Hefner is a thorough gentleman and a man of routine. The fact that he chose to have me stay at the Playboy mansion as his guest for a fortnight was a compliment in itself.

What was the Playboy mansion like?

The mansion is indeed massive and immensely beautiful. The indoor and outdoor swimming pools, the steam rooms, the games rooms, the gymnasium, the tennis court, the gardens, the zoo, the theatre room and all the other places at the mansion make it worthy of being a popular tourist spot in Los Angeles.

Are you worried about any kind of backlash here in India when the Playboy cover is revealed in November?

Not at all! In fact, I am waiting for it with bated breath.

The Playboy website lists you as a ‘Bollywood goddess’!

I find it not far from the truth!

How important is this going to be for your career?

It is my first step towards excellence and being fearless.

Your pictures on Twitter are often blocked or pulled down...

I guess it’s the law of the land. However, I strongly feel that networking sites should come with no censorship.
