When: 8am-10pm
Meal for two:  Rs 600-plus

Baked Potato with Mexican Rice:
A must-try for vegetarians, the tangy, spicy Mexican flavour blends well with the cheese and creamed corn that come with the baked potatoes.

The four-month-old Paris Cafe outlet in Salt Lake Sector V — a favourite haunt already of techies and students — has come up with an array of new dishes, mostly non-vegetarian.

Prawn Cocktail: One of the best items in the new menu, this delicacy served in a bowl (not in a cocktail glass) is rich in mayonnaise, white wine, Tabasco and tomato ketchup! The soft, juicy prawns come garnished with freshly chopped iceberg lettuce and hard-boiled eggs. Delicious is an understatement.

Those who drop by for a quick bite would find Pizza Sticks, Ginger Glazed Chicken Wings and Peanut Satay Cottage Cheese easy to polish off. For a substantial meal, go for Vegetarian Papika, Vegetariana and Chicken Tetrazzini, Orange Cilantro Prawns or Chicken Stroganoff.

Chocolat et de Framboise Dome: You may get too busy Instagramming it before taking a bite. A pop pick in Paris Cafe’s Ballygunge outlet, this chocolate mousse with a layer of raspberry is a showstealer on the Sector V menu too.

A thumbs-up for the Fish Steak — bekti steak served with mushroom sauce and couscous. Innovative and healthy, with a big punch of flavours.

“Besides a huge demand for non-vegetarian food, what drove us to this revamp was the realisation that our regular guests were seeking new, wholesome dishes. We have decided to renew our menu almost every three to four months, so that guests have something new to try and look forward to,” said Sneha Singhi, owner of Paris Cafe.
