Arnav and Aditi are lovers who are at crossroads. While Arnav is torn between his dream job on one side and love on the other, Aditi is determined to make things work. This forms the plot of the short film Never Ending, which is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video USA and UK. It has been on Disney+ Hotstar since October 2020. Born and brought up in Calcutta, Sneha Maloo plays Aditi. Meanwhile, Sneha is now working as a part of the direction team of Kaushik Ganguly’s Hindi film Manohar Pandey. A chat with Sneha.

What excited you about Never Ending?

Everything. It was a first-time experience of playing a protagonist on camera. And the fact that a bunch of passionate individuals came together to create something of our own. It was challenging but a very fulfilling experience. I was working in Mumbai for the past three years. During that time, I also started doing acting workshops, short plays and giving auditions. I developed more interest and wanted to create my own content. I was introduced to budding writer/director Manav RK by our common friend. Manav came up with this story which I loved instantly. We connected with DoP Rachit Vaidya, Italian music composer Flavio Cuccurullo, and many of my classmates from my acting workshops came forward to support me. That’s how we formed a great team and it all went well.

Tell us about your character?

I play the character of Aditi who is facing challenges in keeping up with the deep emotions she has for her lover. It’s a romantic drama about Aditi and Arnav.

Why did you decide to produce it?

I loved the story and was excited to play the role of Aditi. Producing the film gave me my first hands-on experience on the process of film-making. I was involved with everything and that was a great learning for me. As an actor, I feel it’s really important to understand the whole process.

How was the shooting experience?

The shoot was quick and fun. We shot in Mumbai and finished it in four days in July 2019. Following that it has been a long ride to finally get the film where it is today.

Why the name Never Ending?

We often think of love stories to have a happy ending, they can be never-ending too. The title is the crux of our story. So when one watches it, they will know the reason behind it.

How is the feedback till now?

The response has been humbling ever since our first screening. With the film now streaming on such prestigious platforms like Amazon Prime Video USA/UK and Disney+ Hotstar we are getting more viewers. People have reached out to me on social media which feels great. I’m excited for more people to watch the film.
