Where: Natural View, 82 Bidhannagar Road.

The line-up: The Puja makes its debut this year in this complex which consists of 165 flats.The pandal is modelled on the nat mandir theme. Spot quiz, Antakshari, solo songs and orchestra are the highlights of this Puja.

Voiceover: “There is an emphasis on the traditional,” said Siben Talukdar, organiser.

 

Where: Bally Ganga Apartments, 398/1 GT Road, Bally, Howrah.

The line-up: Community bhog and cultural programmes are the highlights.

Voiceover: “All the residents participate in the Puja, like a joint family,” said Partha Pratim Ghosh, organiser.

 

Where: Shantinagar Housing Society, 2C NS Road, Liluah, Howrah.

The line-up: The Puja turns 26 this year in this complex consisting of 300 families. Various cultural programmes such as song, dance and drama are scheduled.

Voiceover: “We do not take any outside sponsorships but raise the funds for the Puja from the residents themselves,” explained B.S. Mehata, organiser.

 

Where: Uttarpara Housing Complex, 88B GT Road, Bhadrakali, Hooghly.

The line-up: This is the 16th Puja for this complex comprising 318 flats. Besides community bhog and cultural events, The Telegraph sponsored contests are a big draw.

Voiceover: “We will be awarding gold medals to students who have topped in the district,” said Amit Banerjee, organiser.

 

Where: Indraloke Housing Complex, B/13/7 Indraloke Estate 1, Paikpara.

The line-up: This complex consisting of 100 flats enters its 33rd year this year. Housie, quiz and even a luchi-making competition are some of the top draws.

Voiceover: “Our’s is akin to a family Puja,” said Indrajit Chakraborty, organiser.

 

Where: Green Wood Park, New Town, Rajarhat.

The line-up: Puja enters its second year for this 390-flat complex. Daker saaj pratima and children’s fashion show are the highlights.

Voiceover: “We have a community feast from Saptami to Navami,” said T.C. Saha, organiser.

 

Where: Mahavir Vikas, Army Welfare Cooperative Society, Block HC, Sector 3 Salt Lake.

The line-up: It’s the 22nd Puja for this complex comprising 261 flats. Cultural events include dandiya.

Voiceover: “We all look forward to the dandiya every year,” said Ranjit Chattopadhyay, organiser.

 

Where: Shree Housing Complex, Action Area 1A New Town, Rajarhat.

The line-up: 384 families will be celebrating this Puja which enters its second year with a musical chairs competition on Saptami and Bengali folk dance on Ashtami.

Voiceover: “We have community lunch and dinner from Saptami to Navami,” said A. Singh, organiser.

 

Where: CMDA Nagar Housing Society Limited, Seuli Telenipara, Titagarh.

The line-up: 800 families will be celebrating this Puja which enters its ninth year. Theme-based cultural programmes are the attraction.

Voiceover: “Everyday 2,500-3,000 people sit and eat together in our Puja,” said Rupam Sen, organiser.

 

Where: Sinchan Nagar Housing Complex, Taki Road, Barasat.

The line-up: Around 150 flat owners will be celebrating at this Puja, which enters its 22nd year. There is drama, recitation and quiz lined up and a geeti-natya.

Voiceover: “Every resident is participating and everyone, especially children, wishes to be around instead of pandal hopping,” said Ajoy Bhattacharya, organiser.

 

Where: Malancha Abashik Puja Committee, 211 BT Road.

The line-up: The Puja, in its 11th year, involves 182 families. Cultural programmes by children and grown ups are the attraction.

Voiceover: “We will have meals and bhog together on all days and the evenings are full of events,” said Pintu Roy Chowdhury, organiser.

 

Where: Fortune City, 165 Old Jessore Road, Ganganagar.

The line-up: 200 families will be celebrating this Puja. Cultural programmes presented by residents from various regions, plays by children and adivasi dance by the maintenance and security staff are the highlights.

Voiceover: “At Fortune City there is a lot of greenery, which we have highlighted with lighting,” said Kuntal Sen, organiser.

 

Where: Sundaram Apartments, Hormaz Villa, Madhaymgram.

The line-up: This is the sixth year of the Puja with 68 families celebrating. The ek chala idol made by Kumartuli’s Mintu Pal is the highlight. The evenings are packed with events like shruti-natak, Antakshari, sit and draw and more.

Voiceover: “Everyday 300 people have meals together at our Puja,” said Tarun Dwivedi, organiser.

 

Where: Ananda Vihar, 26 N.N. Road, Calcutta.

The line-up: 85 families will be celebrating this Puja which moves in to the second year. The attractions are programmes presented by children, a baby fashion show, sit and draw and Antakshari.

Voiceover: “Navami is the most awaited day when we have arranged for a live music band,” said Biswajit Das, organiser.

 

Where: Golmohar, Railway Quarters, Howrah.

The line-up: The Puja steps in to its 63rd year and will be celebrated with 300 residents. The attractions are a variety of cultural programmes and the Ashtami bhog.

Voiceover:The Telegraph events are the star attractions this year,” said Sabita Mitra, organiser.

 

Where: VIP Enclave, Raghunathpur.

The line-up: 300 families will be taking part in this Puja in its 11th year. The highlights are a variety of cultural programmes and the Ashtami bhog.

Voiceover: “We have made the pandal like a rajbari and shall be doing the Puja in traditional style,” said Rana Ghosh, organiser.

Where:Abashik Kalyan Samiti, 24/1 Banesh Shaikh Lane, Howrah.

The line-up: The 43-year-old Puja has participation of 454 families. The pandal has been made like a mandir and the highlights are events like Antakshari, sit and draw and best couples competition.

Voiceover: “This year, The Telegraph events are the main draw, especially the best couple award,” said Puspen Chatterjee, organiser.

Where: Karunamoyee Phase I Durga Puja (Block A, B, C, D), Salt Lake.

The line-up: The Puja for 880 flats enters its 28th year. Special lunch on Ashtami.

Voiceover: “The complex is geared up for the Personality of the Puja and Family of the Puja contests,” said Ritesh Basak, organiser.

 

Where: Salt Lake BE East Durga Puja Committee, Salt Lake.

The line-up: The Puja for 423 houses completes 28 years. The pandal is decorated with thread and hogla leaves.

Voiceover: “In the past three years, our Puja has won 36 awards,” said Rajat Saha, committee vice-president.

 

Where: EE Block Saradotsav Committee Durga Puja, Sector 1 Salt Lake.

The line-up: The Puja involves residents from 2,000 flats, and is 10 years old. The pandal is modelled on a rajbari. Their programmes include a fashion show on Ashtami and Antakshari.

Voiceover: “We invite children from a local orphanage for bhog,” said Swapan Bose, committee secretary.

 

Where: HA Block Resident’s Forum Puja Committee, HA 321/1 Salt Lake, Sector 3.

The line-up: The Puja, with 440 flats joining in, celebrates its 23rd year. Puja fashion, folk dance on Ashtami.

Voiceover:“A special community lunch has been planned for Navami,” said Bidhan Ganguly, organiser.

 

Where: AK Block Durga Puja, Sector 1 Salt Lake.

The line-up: The Puja, which involves 240 members, turns 20 this year. The pandal is modelled on a rajbari with nat mandir and tulsi mancha.

Voiceover: “A troupe from Chandernagore will perform,” said Shikul Bhattacharya, cultural secretary.

 

Where: Mandevilla Apartments, 9 Mandeville Gardens.

The line-up: The Puja is 27 years old and has participation from 84 flats. Magic show, elocution contest and a musical night are some of the main attractions.

Voiceover: “All the residents participate with a great deal of enthusiasm,” said Sucharita Chatterjee, organiser.

 

Where: Alaka Cooperative Housing Society, 59/2B Pratapaditya Road, near Mudiali Junction.

The line-up: Residents from 64 flats come together to celebrate this Puja which started in 1983. Quiz, drama, shankha badan contests are on the cards.

Voiceover: “We make an attempt to inculcate a feeling of oneness through the medium of this Puja,” says P. Bhattacharya, organiser.

 

Where: Mohan Gardens Residents Welfare Association, Kamalgachi More, Narendrapur.

The line-up: Cultural activities spanning all Puja days. Community bhog and contests for kids are the highlights.

 

Where: ONGC Green Tower, Golf Green.

The line-up: Sit and draw competition, dance drama and music contests are lined up on all days of the Puja in this 210-flat complex.

 

Where: Purbayan Apartments, Santoshpur.

The line-up: Community bhog — from breakfast to dinner — on all Puja days. Cultural events and competitions, including The Telegraph Hand in Hand contests, are some of the attractions.

 

Where: Victoria Green, Garia WBECB.

The line-up: Tradition and simplicity are the highlights of this Puja. Various contests and community activities have been planned for all five days.

 

Where: Ekta Heights, Sulekha, Santoshpur.

The line-up: The complex consisting of 240 families makes its debut this year with a daker saaj idol. Dandiya on Navami and a programme of fusion music are the main draws.

Voiceover: “The main thrust is on the Puja. It is simple and sabeki,” said Gautam Banerjee, organiser.

 

Where: Greenview Housing Society, 119 Southern Avenue.

The line-up: Residents of 84 flats get together to celebrate this Puja which turns 31 this year. The idol is ekchala.

Voiceover: “We do not believe in any themes,” said Chandra Bhusan Ghosh, organiser.

 

Where: Rabindra Nagar Residential Housing Estate, GT Road, Hooghly.

The line-up: Comprising 120 flats, this Puja will be celebrating its 16th year. A tribute to 150 years of Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar’s Barnaparichay is a highlight of this Puja.

Voiceover: “At Rabindra Nagar, all residents stay in town for the Pujas,”explained Proloy Ghosh, organiser.

 

Where: Pushpanjali Apartments, Burrabazar Main Road, Chandernagore, Hooghly

The line-up: 110 families come together to celebrate Durga Puja which is currently in its 13th year. Agomoni gaan, an interactive session on Sashthi, is the highlight.

Voiceover: “Ek Dhama Aloo, a drama by children and Ashokar Ashok to be staged by women are two plays that all the residents are looking forward to,” said Mita Chatterjee, organiser.

 

Where: Sangam Apartments, Lake Town.

The line-up: 100 flats have been celebrating Durga Puja for the past 17 years. A host of cultural activities have been planned.

Voiceover: “There is active participation from all the residents,” said Ganesh Jha, organiser.

 

Where: Shree Krishna Gardens, 1/1 Raja Rajendra Lal Mitra Road.

The line-up: In its second year, 108 families participate in this Puja. Inaugurated by Arjun Chakraborty and wife Nilanjana and Dolly Basu, spot quiz, dandiya are other highlights.

Voiceover: “We have a fashion show where residents and professional models will participate,” explained Subhas Murarka, organiser.

 

Where: Surendranath Cooperative, 238 Maniktala Main Road.

The line-up: 72 families from this complex have been celebrating for 42 years. Panel discussion on ‘Puja — yesterday and today’ and dance dramas are added attractions.

Voiceover: “Our celebrations have started from Panchami,” said Kanchan Pathak, organiser.

 

Where: Koyla Vihar, Vasundhara, VIP Road.

The line-up: This is the second Puja for this 144-family complex. Sit and draw, recitation and song-and-dance programmes have been planned.

Voiceover: “A Baul group from Malda will perform on Ashtami,” said Tapas Choudhury, organiser.

 

Where: Shantiban Complex,7 Umakanta Sen Lane, Paikpara.

The line-up: Comprising 160 flats, the Puja celebrates its fifth edition this year. A performance by visually-impaired children is scheduled for Navami.

Voiceover: “We have a host of programmes lined up including classical dance and devotional songs,” said Swati Biswas, organiser.
