Medha Shankr relives the day she gave her first screen test for Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s 12th Fail; shares pictures

Starring Vikrant Massey in the lead role, 12th Fail released theatrically on October 27 last year before dropping on Disney+ Hotstar on December 29

12th Fail actress Medha Shankr on Friday dropped a set of behind-the-scenes pictures from the Vidhu Vinod Chopra directorial for which she had given a screen test exactly two years back on the same date.

“This day two years ago, I gave my first screen test for #12thFail and the rest is history,” wrote the actress alongside a carousel featuring pictures of her in a red kurta. She sports different expressions against the backdrop of a bookshelf in the photos.

Medha said the last picture in the lot, where she shares the frame with co-star Vikrant Massey, was clicked right after they had performed an intense scene, which resulted in her eyes looking swollen. In that photo, Medha is clad in a white chikankari kurta, while Vikrant sports a grey shirt.

“My most special day,” added Medha in the caption, expressing her gratitude for being given the opportunity of portraying Shraddha Joshi in the film.

12th Fail recounts the story of IPS Manoj Kumar Sharma (played by Vikrant) who overcame extreme poverty to achieve his goal. The movie was released theatrically on October 27 last year, before dropping on Disney+ Hotstar on December 29.

12th Fail garnered acclaim from numerous Bollywood stars including Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan. It also emerged as the highest-rated Indian film of all time on IMDb in December last year with a rating of 9.2 out of 10.

Medha made her acting debut with the British miniseries Beecham House (2019). In 2021. She also appeared in supporting roles in the Hindi film Shaadisthan (2021) and the 2021 Disney+ Hotstar series Dil Bekaraar.
