Huma Qureshi’s Rani Bharti pledges to give her enemies a hard time in the official teaser video of Maharani Season 3, dropped by Sony LIV on Tuesday.

“Pareeksha ki tayyari hai jaari Phir aa rahi hai #Maharani (The preparation for exams is on as Maharani comes back for the new season),” wrote the streamer alongside the video on Instagram.

The teaser starts with Amit Sial’s Navin Kumar visiting prisoners in jail, where he is offered sweets by one of the inmates. He, however, refuses to eat the sweets upon learning that they are being distributed by Raniji to celebrate her success in the intermediate exams. The camera then pans to Rani Bharti emerging from a police van, with her voiceover warning her corrupt enemies to beware of her return.

Also featuring Sohum Shah, Vineet Kumar, Pramod Pathak, Kani Kusruti, Anuja Sathe, Sushil Pandey and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in pivotal roles, Maharani chronicles the journey of an ordinary homemaker, Rani Bharti, whose life undergoes a sea-change after her husband Bihar chief minister Bheema Bharti (played by Sohum Shah) announces her as his successor in the seat of power.

The series is partly based on real-life events that followed Rabri Devi’s succession of Lalu Prasad Yadav as Bihar’s chief minister.

Helmed by Saurabh Bhave, the third instalment of Maharani had wrapped up filming in October last year, the production house Kangra Talkies announced on Instagram, sharing behind-the-scenes pictures from the set of the political series. “As we wrap up Maharani Season 3 in the serene mountains of Jammu and Srinagar, we're filled with gratitude for the amazing team that brought this story to life,” wrote the makers alongside the carousel.
