LOOK WHO’S HERE! The cute blue cat was surrounded by a bunch of kids as soon as he arrived. They danced, they sang and they had a great time with Doraemon at the opening of Doraemon Live at City Centre New Town on Saturday.

DORAEMON DELIGHT: The kids were thrilled to get themselves photographed with their robot friend. Little Zohan Khan (below), one of the first to get a photo-op with Doraemon, gave him a big hug and just refused to let go. Kawaljeet Singh Thapar (right) would give anything for a picture with his favourite cartoon character and his dream came true on Sunday. “I have a Doraemon pencil box and a piggy bank,” beamed the Class II student of Gems Akademia International School who was sporting a pair of Doraemon shoes. It took Sanvi Bafna (right below) of Sushila Birla Girls’ School half an hour to convince her mom to buy her a coupon so that she could get clicked with Doraemon. You couldn’t miss the twinkle in her eyes as she stood next to Doraemon. “She watches it all the time with her brother, who is 11 years old. They fight and then bond together,” said mom Seema Bafna.

BOWLED OVER: The bowling arena was a big hit with the little ones. Sisters Auhana Biswas and Adwita Biswas spent most of their time aiming at the pins on Saturday. “We both are big-time fans of the Doraemon show. I like Nobita, but Adwita is more a fan of Shizuka. At times we even play Doraemon at home when our cousins come over because they too are Doraemon fans. We look forward to weekends when we can watch the cartoon all day,” grinned Auhana, a Class VI student of Auxilium Convent School, Dum Dum, as she beat sister Adwaita, a student of Class II at the same school, in the game.

(Right) For Archisha Sen, a regular visit to City Centre New Town turned out to be a special one. “I come here with my parents almost every weekend but this time I was in for a surprise. Doraemon is so intelligent and helpful!” said Archisha, a student of Class II at Salt Lake English Medium School, as she tried her hand(s) at bowling.

INKED:Raima Mukherjee flaunts her Shizuka tattoo  on Saturday. “She is so pretty. I want to be like her when I grow up. I like Doraemon too but Shizuka is my favourite,” smiled the Class II student of DPS Megacity. (Below left) For Prisha Bhatia, who got herself inked on Sunday, Doraemon means everything to her. “The whole family shares her madness. Her grandfather being the eldest is Doraemon, her dad is Gian, I am Nobita and she is Shizuka. Everything from her study table to bag and water bottle has Doraemon. Doraemon is her world,” said mother Priyanka Bhatia.

SLIP OF A BOY: He rolled, he jumped, he slipped and had the time of his life. Avneesh Saha went up and down the giant slide at City Centre New Town on Saturday. Parents Abhideep Saha and Shraddha Jain Saha also shared their son’s excitement. “He is mad about Doraemon and makes us go crazy as well. He tries to be Nobita and we are Doraemon,” said mom Shraddha, a classical dancer.
