Shah Rukh Khan, Kamal Haasan, Dhanush and Dulquer Salmaan wish Rajinikanth on his 72nd birthday

Madhavan, Nayanthara and Urmila Matondkar are among the others who took to social media to wish the south superstar

Wishes are pouring in from across the country and beyond for Rajinikanth, who turned 72 today. Actors Kamal Haasan and Dulquer Salmaan were among the celebrities who wished the superstar on social media.

The Gray Man actor Dhanush, Rajinikanth’s ex-son-in-law, shared an early morning birthday wish for “Thalaiva”.

Dhanush’s tweet was followed by a series of posts by actors and filmmakers from across India. Kamal Haasan, who is currently shooting for a follow-up of his 1996 film Indian, took to Twitter to wish Rajinikanth in Tamil.

“Happy birthday to my dear friend Superstar @rajinikanth. Wish you on this auspicious day to continue your journey of success,” the actor wrote.

Shah Rukh Khan shared a picture of him and Rajinikanth on Instagram alongside a heartfelt birthday wish for the latter. “To the coolest, swaggiest, humblest star of stars forever and ever….love you @rajinikanth sir,” the Pathaan actor wrote.

Sita Ramam star Dulquer Salmaan shared a fan-made poster of Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Jailer on Twitter and wrote: “You are the best & keep inspiring us forever.”

R. Madhavan shared a throwback picture of himself with Rajinikanth and scientist Nambi Narayanan, after the success of his directorial debut Rocketry. “May gods bless you with the best of health and cheer and praying hard for the very best for you,” Madhavan wrote.

Urmila Matondkar described Rajinikanth as the “Ultimate epitome of Humility, Graciousness, Greatness, Affection!!”.

Choreographer-actor Raghava Lawrence shared a photo of him embracing Rajinikanth. Wishing him a long life and good health, Lawrence also revealed that he started the shoot for the Jigarthanda sequel on Rajinikanth’s birthday.

Actress Nayanthara described Rajinikanth as “the one and only #Superstar of all time” in her tweet.

Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Jailer’s director Nelson Dilipkumar shared a video compilation of the actor’s films on his birthday.

Pooda Podi actress Varalaxmi Sarathkumar shared photos with Rajinikanth and wished him health and happiness.

Actress-politician Khushbu Sundar shared a photo of her with the birthday boy alongside a heartfelt caption. “Wishing the greatest #SuperStar of Indian cinema, the man whose actions speak louder than words, a hero who defined the actual meaning of heroism, a trendsetter, above all a man of principle & dignity,” she wrote.

Up and coming actor Rahul Vijay also wished Rajinikanth, sharing a photo with the actor.
