RRR actor Jr NTR has been inducted into the Academy’s class of actors alongside Hollywood stars Ke Huy Quan, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Kerry Condon and Rosa Salazar, the official Instagram page of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Wednesday.

Sharing snippets from each of the actors’ Oscar-winning performances, The Academy wrote on Instagram, “In the capable hands of these dedicated and gifted performers, stories transcend the confines of imagination, taking on a tangible, visceral existence that captivates viewers around the world.”

The page added how the performers’ “nuanced expressions, compelling gestures, and authentic portrayals” bring to life certain characters with whom viewers can relate their “struggles”, “joys” and “triumph”.

“The Academy is thrilled to welcome Ke Huy Quan, Marsha Stephanie Blake, Kerry Condon, N.T. Rama Rao Jr., and Rosa Salazar to the Actors Branch,” the Academy’s Instagram post read.

According to the official website of the Oscars, membership to the actor’s branch is only possible through an invitation from the board of governors. It states that only those actors who are “active in the motion picture arts and sciences, or credited with screen achievements, or who have otherwise achieved distinction in the motion picture arts and sciences” can be a member of the branch.

Jr NTR shot to global fame with SS Rajamouli's RRR which also starred Ram Charan. The film’s song Naatu Naatu won the Oscars and a trophy at the 80th Golden Globe Awards held in Los Angeles earlier this year. It also won two more awards at the Critics Choice Movie Awards in Los Angeles this year— Best Foreign Language Film and Best Original Song for Naatu Naatu.
