Fitness for me is: A combination of good diet and exercise. I don’t do too much exercise — the dancing that I do for my films is enough for me. I just control what I eat.
My fitness regime: I don’t have one. I do yoga once a week. I don’t go to the gym, my good body comes from my genes.
My diet: I love eating home food. I also eat a lot of vegetables and salads, drink a lot of water and take a lot of vitamins.
I looked the fittest in: Ghajini. In Nishabd, I was 18 and I had a lot of puppy fat.
I love training: My abs.
I hate training: My arms because it’s painful.
My best body feature: My legs.
My worst body feature: I don’t know.
The Bollywood hero with the fittest body: Aamir Khan did a great job with his body in Ghajini. Akshay Kumar has really maintained himself over a couple of decades.
The Bollywood heroine with the fittest body: Shilpa Shetty has always had a fabulous body.
I started working out at: 15.
My fitness role model: Britney Spears.
The best compliment I have got: Recently someone told me “Your body looks really hot”.
If I were to rate my body on a scale of 10: I really feel I have to achieve a lot.
My opinion on steroid use and abuse: Putting anything which is unnatural into your body is bad. You have to live in your body for the rest of your life, so why ruin it?
My opinion on size zero: It’s funny to be asked that because I am size double zero (laughs). I am quite thin but I don’t look it on screen; I look tall and well-built. But as long as you are healthy, it doesn’t matter what size you are. Your concentration should be on living a better life — not looking thin and being depressed.
Would I like my man to have six-pack abs? I don’t know (laughs). I like people to be natural. I don’t like people who are too obsessed with working out. There is so much more to life than looks and superficiality. Someone can have an amazing body but nothing in their head, which is completely pointless.
My advice to young girls: It’s important to find a diet that suits you; and to maintain that. Exercise is important for the mind — if you exercise 20 minutes every day, it will keep you happy. And there is no such thing as starving yourself and getting a perfect body.
