Television actress Krystle D’Souza a Pond’s brand ambassador, tells t2 her mantra for a chilled-out summer.

We are all getting roasted and toasted in this heat. What’s keeping you cool?
What keeps me cool in this crazy summer is drinking a lot of water; it keeps me hydrated. I take skincare and moisturising seriously. What helps my skin from the outside from getting toasted is my Pond’s BB+ cream.

What are your summer style staples?
Summer fashion for me is anything but tight clothes... no-jeans policy. I love easy-breezy dresses, light, printed maxi dresses or shorts and tops. A hat, shades and some sliders on my feet is my idea of perfect summer fashion.

What about skin and haircare? After a gruelling schedule, do you really have the energy to take off all that make-up?
To be honest, I can’t wait to take off my make-up as soon as I hear pack up! We work with make-up on for 12 hours a day, so I love the idea of having no make-up and treating my skin well.

What works like magic on a sun-tired and tanned skin for you?
Over time I have realised how important it is to use a good moisturiser even during summer. Light-weight moisturisers like the Pond’s Silk Cream work brilliantly for this weather.

What’s summer make-up for you?
As light as you can. My go-to is the Pond’s BB+ cream. I also carry face wipes, lip balm and some kohl.

You have lovely hair. What are your all-time summer cooler styles?
I love long hair and for me it’s a good shampoo and conditioner that helps my hair stay stronger from the inside and shinier on the outside. In summer my hair fix is a topknot or just a simple high pony! I hate leaving my hair open in summer.

What is your fave summer getaway?
Any beach town. It just makes summer feel more summery. I don’t shy away from a nice swim in the ocean and that golden tan that happens by chance! So LA, Krabi, Bali or even a quick getaway to Goa somehow makes me feel like it’s summer!

Anything that is a must on your plate in summer?
A lot of fruits! I totally overdose on fruits and yogurt. There’s not a single fruit that I don’t like. And I make sure they are all cold before they get on my plate. It just makes them yummier.

Finally, summer vs monsoon vs autumn vs winter... your favourite season is and why?
WINTER all the way. Also because everyone is in a festive mood during winter. Diwali, Christmas, New Year... it’s just high spirits and low temperatures that make me so happy.
