Team Golondaaj is super excited and all set to start shooting once again. Directed by Dhrubo Banerjee, Golondaaj stars Dev, Ishaa Saha, Anirban Bhattacharya among others. In the film, Dev plays Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari, the open-minded, prolific athlete who is known as the father of Indian football. He will be seen as “a man who challenges the existing social structure and goes on to become a true leader on the field; the ripples of his action will resonate across the country”. “We will be starting with mostly our indoor sections. The film is predominantly outdoors. Thankfully we could finish most of the outdoors in the first schedule itself. We have some left. We have a huge amount of indoor scenes now,” says director Dhrubo Banerjee.

The first schedule of the period drama Golondaaj was shot in February. “We were supposed to begin shooting the second schedule around last week of March, first week of April. Then the pandemic happened... the film is one of the biggest projects of this year both in terms of scale and budget. So we decided to wait. We did not want to rush into it. We knew it should be handled in the right manner. Since there is so much of people involvement, we did not want to take a chance,” adds Dhrubo.

Enormous precautions were taken for the rehearsals. “Everyone is safe, happy and now are geared up for the shoot. Now shootings are happening in a fairly regular manner. We have now created our own dos and don’ts, our own precautionary measures and we are maintaining safety protocols. At the end of the day nothing is more important than human safety. We gave it the time,” says the director.

Everyone is now super excited and confident. “We have taken all the precautions and we know that we are ready. This has been a brilliant journey. I got the opportunity to edit the entire first schedule and the way it is looking.... I can sense the excitement palpable among everyone in the team. They are raring to come back into the field and finish the dream of a journey,” says Dhrubo.
