Smoke Shack — the open-air al fresco restaurant of Park Plaza — has launched a revamped food and drinks menu going by the feedback from guests, and adding a young and vibrant feel to the rooftop hangout.

“Calcuttans prefer a fine-dining kind of experience now. On the basis of our survey we kept a few dishes from the old menu and added more fresh fare,” said executive chef Jayanta Banerjee who was last seen working at The Lalit Great Eastern. The elaborate menu now finds space for not only lip-smacking grills like Pesto Rub Glazed Vegetables, Fried Smoke Cheese Roll, Chargrilled Mountain Salmon, Jamaican Pork Chops but also wholesome entrees like Hyderabadi Dum Gosht, Dum Biryani, Ajwaini Jhinga and Steak Major Cunningham.

Add to that an array of yummy cocktails — shooters to Martini to mojitos. Rum-lovers must try out mojitos like Orange and Passion Fruit Mojito and Caramelised Green Apple Mojito. If you are a Martini person a la James Bond, try out quirky Chai-tini and Pommatini (made of pomengranate). Caipirinha — the famed Brazilian drink made of cachaca — has its variants muddled with lime and mint, with different fruit flavours. “The bar menu has completely been changed, and we have experimented a lot. Our focus is also on cool presentation,” said Subhajit Mitra, assistant food and beverage manager, Park Plaza.

So, set a date with your love or curl up with a book, make the best of the open-air pool area with its brand new sips and bites. The pamper price tag? Rs 1,800-plus for you two.
