Kajol plays an upright cop who faces a moral dilemma when Kriti Sanon’s convict disrupts the delicate balance between truth and evidence in the official teaser of Shashanka Chaturvedi upcoming crime thriller Do Patti, dropped by Netflix on February 29.

Set in the majestic hills of north India, the one-minute-13-second-long teaser begins with Kajol as a cop, her first time donning the uniform, as she rides a bike along a tortuous mountain road. The clip morphs into one that shows Kriti riding with her lover. Cut to the next scene, we see Kriti dazzling in an evening gown and being the heart and soul of a party before our eye catches Kajol, who looks anxious and checks her phone.

Sensuous sequences follow before Kajol strides along a highway, firing at a vehicle on a stormy night. The atmosphere intensifies after a face-off between Kajol and Kriti. “Jab sach aur saboot aapas mai bhir jaye, tab kya krna chahite (What to do when truth and evidence collide)?” questions Kajol’s cop. The screen fades to black before we hear Kriti’s pert reply, “Wahi karna chahiye jo dil kahe (Do what your heart asks you to).”

The teaser ends with Kriti, dressed in a red sheer dress, commenting on the heart’s inclination to deceive.

The crime thriller is Kriti’s first venture as a producer and is backed by her production banner Blue Butterfly Films, which she launched in July 2023.

Do Patti also marks Kriti’s second collaboration with Kajol after Rohit Shetty’s 2015 romantic action comedy Dilwale. Besides, the film introduces Shaheer Sheikh, a familiar face of Indian television, to the big screen.

Co-produced by Kanika Dhillon, who serves also as the screenwriter, Do Patti is slated to premiere on Netflix in 2024.
