@udaychopraDhoom:3…25th July… 2000 screens… 400 cities…1 country…China!”

After playing out its world television premiere on Saturday evening, Dhoom:3 — that’s already creating waves in the Turkish market — is all set to blaze into cinemas in China on July 25, in what will be the widest release for an Indian film in that country — yes, 2,000 screens in 400 cities!

The Aamir Khan-Abhishek Bachchan-Uday Chopra-Katrina Kaif film that became the biggest Bollywood blockbuster ever upon release in December 2013, has had a good run in international markets, notching up Rs 61 crore from overseas collections alone in its opening weekend. In recent times, Bollywood has been foraying into lesser-known international markets — while Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express released in Peru and Israel, Salman Khan’s Ek Tha Tiger made it to Japanese screens.

Queen to Shandar

Queen-maker Vikas Bahl has reportedly signed on Alia Bhatt opposite Shahid Kapoor for his next film Shandar.

Slated to go on the floors later this year, Shandar is said to be the story of two insomniacs, played by Shahid and Alia, who meet in Europe when their families land up there for an exotic destination wedding. Bahl is already location- scouting in Europe and will lock his other actors soon.
