Shrabanti is beating the calories with Coca-Cola! Whenever Tui amar Coca-Cola, ami tor boka bhola, the foot-tapping item number from her latest flick Phande Poriya Boga Kande Re, airs on TV, she gets up and starts dancing, says the pretty lady. “Yes, after doing so much to lose weight, from hitting the gym to following a diet, I have discovered that the easiest way to stay in shape is to dance to Tui amar Coca-Cola!” Shrabanti laughs out loud.

While the Bengali cine-goer may be making a beeline for 22shey Srabon this festive season, Phande Poriya… is also running houseful, reports the film’s leading lady.

“Just a few days back, I went to check out the crowd reaction at a south Calcutta theatre. Of course, nobody recognised me since I covered my face with a dupatta. The audience went berserk during the item number. I was surprised that they even know the lyrics! I think Bittu (Soham) and my chemistry has clicked again, after Amanush,” she gushes.

In between picking up accolades for her bubbly girl act in Phande Poriya…, Shrabanti is also sweating it out under the hot October sun, shooting for hubby Rajib’s next film, Idiot, where she plays Aditya Pancholi’s li’ sis.

“Working with Adityaji is fun because he speaks his lines in Bangla and his pronunciation is extremely funny. But he is a thorough professional and such a natural actor that it’s been a learning experience for the team and me. Besides, he is just too handsome! Just wait and watch when Idiot releases — it’ll be one of the most stylish films the Bengali audience has ever seen!”
