he Kabir Khan film powered its way to Rs 100cr in just five days! Bollywood’s hero no. 1 is the reigning box-office crorepati with two Rs 100cr blockbusters each year for the past two years. Every Salman release is nothing short of an event and with every film, he breaks his own box-office records.

Coming up: Mental (directed by brother Sohail), Kick (opposite Jacqueline Fernandez), Sooraj Barjatya’s next (which will go on the floors in 2014) and the sequel to No Entry.

ajay devgn

Highest grosser: Son of Sardaar (Rs 126 crore).

Ajay Devgn has slowly but steadily carved an enviable place for himself in the 100cr club. Three of his four films in the club have been courtesy best buddy Rohit Shetty. Bol Bachchan holds the record for the longest time taken to make it to 100cr — 45 days!

Shah rukh KHAN

King Khan’s clout over the box office has spelt three entries in the century club. Don 2 was a Christmas release, Ra.One and Jab Tak Hai Jaan both Diwali films. The SRK- Rohit Shetty combination makes his upcoming Chennai Express, releasing on Id, a favourite to be his fourth biggie.

In 2008, the action-packed Ghajini became the first Bollywood film to make it past the century mark. The following year, 3 Idiots — powered by its feel-good premise and repeat viewing — became the only Bolly film to gross Rs 200cr. Aamir’s last release, Talaash, managed about Rs 80cr. His next two films have centurion written all over them!

The Khiladi has been a relatively late entrant in the century club. Akshay’s OMG — that he

co-produced and played god in — came within sniffing distance of 100cr, stopping at 95.

Just 10 films old, the Kapoor beta is challenging the box-office might of the Khans. If small-big Barfi! powered its way to Rs 100cr on the strength of Ranbir’s superlative performance, YJHD is already the third biggest Bolly film of all time.

Lady Luck at the box office. If we had counted Dabangg 2 — in which she scorched the screen with Fevicol se — she would have matched Salman on the century count. That apart, 2012 was a dry year with Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and Talaash doing well but not well enough (by her standards), and Agent Vinod and Heroine flopping badly.
