Bertie strums at SPE. Picture by Rashbehari Das |
On Friday, Someplace Else’s 16th birthday celebration starred Bertie & Friends. The packed pub at The Park moved to Bertie’s beat as he alternated between slow, soulful numbers like Afternoon Light and All Over Again and up-tempo tracks like Golden Touch and Do It Right. And whatever note he struck, could never have been in any doubt about the answer to the question “do you like my music”, with which he chose to tease his diverse audience.
Bertie was accompanied by bandmates Willie Walters on bass, Sooman on lead guitar, Suraj Pradhan on drums and Anindya Paul on backing vocals.
The next act featured Someplace Else regulars Hip Pocket, with Nondon Bagchi on drums, getting back into their much-loved classic rock groove.
