ANUSHKA: DEEPIKA IS NOT A FRIEND

Karan Johar: Some of your friends came on the show… someone who recently claimed to be your friend was Deepika Padukone. She said that you were her friend and I looked at her and said: ‘Well if you think she’s your friend, you’re living in a bubble’.

Anushka: I don’t think she’s a friend… she’s not an enemy, though. Friend is a very big thing, Karan. I have five friends who I’ve known for so many years. It’s not like we (she and Deepika) call each other or we talk, we chat, we send messages… but that doesn’t mean we talk ill about one another, or we hate one another. I guess when she said that she just meant to say that I’m not her enemy, I guess that’s what she meant.

Karan: Who’s your favourite cricketer?

Anushka: Virat Kohli.

Karan: Do you catch well, just like your boyfriend?

Anushka: Shut up, Karan!

Karan: The (Indian cricket) team’s glory is in your hands...

Anushka: Shut up, Karan!

ANURAG: I HATED YOU, KARAN

Karan: Why you hated me, Anurag, so much?

Anurag: I think I hated you because you took all our awards, from Satya to Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. I think at that time I had this big resentment towards everything that was mainstream and I was also more idealistic, so it was generally like that. I think I saw one episode (of Koffee with Karan) where I felt how all friends are sitting there together and just praising each other.

Karan: And you blogged about it…

Anurag: At that time I was blogging, I really had no idea what the Internet is. So I started blogging the day I discovered Internet. I thought it’s like a diary, nobody will read it. And also at that time, I was very opinionated, I was extremely judgemental of people. And I resented anyone who had anything that I felt I didn’t have.

Karan: Which was commercial success?

Anurag: Which was getting a release! You to me were… ‘Oh these are rich kids who have struggled in Malabar Hill!’

ANURAG: I’VE BEEN MADLY IN LOVE WITH KALKI

Karan: You’ve gone on record and said that there has been a separation (with Kalki Koechlin). How difficult has that been?

Anurag: It is difficult, it is quite difficult. Right now we are going through a separation and we are figuring things out for ourselves. I’ve been madly in love with her. She’s the best thing that’s happened to me. And she’s the coolest chick I’ve met, and you really feel like every day you wake up wondering: ‘What did I do to deserve this… she’s so beautiful’. This is difficult to deal with right now.

Karan: So you felt that this was too good to be true and that’s why it’s kind of…?

Anurag: I think so… I think insecurities become the biggest reason for why things fall apart.

Karan: Do you think there’s any looking back or you think it’s done?

Anurag: No, it’s not done, I don’t think so.

Karan: You’re not done?

Anurag: No.

ANUSHKA: IF I WERE DEEPIKA, I’D SAY... RAM RAM RAM...

Karan: If you woke up one morning as Deepika, what would you do?

Anushka: I would say my morning prayer…. Ram Ram Ram Ram Ram.

Karan: If you were a journalist, what is the one thing you’d like to ask Virat Kohli? Anushka: How embarrassed were you after watching the show?

Karan: Priyanka Chopra.

Anushka: I would ask her if she was disappointed that she did not get an award for Barfi!. I thought that was her career-best performance and she was phenomenal in the film. I think one of the best performances I’ve seen from a female actor over the years.

Karan: How would you react if you woke up next to Kamaal R. Khan?

Anushka: Oh god, that’s just so disturbing. I’ll just ask him, ‘Bhaiyya, aap kaun thhe aur kaun hain?’

ANURAG: IF I WERE SALMAN, I WOULD LOSE MY VIRGINITY!

Anurag: Ram Gopal Varma was… not is.

Karan: A piece of advice you’d like to give Abhishek Bachchan?

Anurag: Challenge yourself.

Karan: Ranbir Kapoor?

Anurag: Fall in love… seriously!

Karan: Kareena Kapoor?

Anurag: Next time you should not ask who is in the film… you should ask what is the film!

Karan: If you woke up as Salman Khan?

Anurag: I would lose my virginity!
