After suffering a near nervous breakdown on the show, Rajat Rawail — more familiar as Bodyguard’s Tsunami Singh — was evicted from Bigg Boss on Saturday. A t2 chat.

How are you feeling now?

I wasn’t well at all, yaar. I’ve just come out and I feel I am getting my breath… my life, literally, back.

Are you relieved to be out or disappointed that you didn’t last longer on the show?

It’s definitely mixed emotions. I am relieved to see the world… to see so many people around, but I am also disturbed because I feel I could have gone longer on the show. But all said and done, I am glad I am out because I was seriously unwell and was posing to be a real problem for my co-contestants.

What exactly happened to you?

I was going perfectly well in the first week. After that, I slipped into depression. Bigg Boss has a concept called the ‘Wishing Wall’ where contestants can wish for what they want and the day I went into it and asked to meet my daughter Gehna, I became depressed and couldn’t really come out of it. At one stage, I felt I would have a nervous breakdown. I also had physical problems… I weigh 150kg and suffer from sleep apnea (a condition characterised by shortness of breath while sleeping). I also had an acidity problem.

But you knew very well what you were getting into when you walked into Bigg Boss

I did, I did. But once you go in, it’s a different ball-game altogether. To hold your nerve there, be physically fit and play the game in a shrewd manner is not something everyone can do. But the winner won’t learn in 15 weeks what I have learnt in two weeks.

And what’s that?

That it’s important to be in shape. I need to work on my body and get myself treated. I want to be in great shape when I come back to the Bigg Boss finale on December 28. That’s a challenge I have taken up and something that I have also promised (show host) Salman (Khan).

What were the good things about those two weeks in Bigg Boss?

I knew a couple of people from before… like Armaan (Kohli) and Tanisha (Mukherjee). My time went off well. I gelled well with most of the other contestants… we talked, we spent time together. Basically, I went in to lead a normal life… I didn’t go in to boost TRPs with fights or arguments.

Who did you find to be most genuine and straightforward?

It’s a little too early maybe, but it definitely would be Armaan, Tanisha and Sangram (Singh). Even Elli (Avram) comes across as genuine.

Who’s been the player so far?

Tanisha’s playing well and so is Armaan… he’s playing his cards well. He tends to lose it sometimes, but I feel he will go a long way on the show. Elli has a language problem, but that’s going in her favour.

Given a chance, would you go back to Bigg Boss?

That’s definitely something I will give a serious thought to. But that’s after I get myself into shape, both physically and mentally.

BIGG BOSS this week

There’s more than a whiff of romance between Gauahar Khan and Kushal Tandon. The new lovebirds on the BB block have been spotted holding hands, whispering sweet nothings and flirting with each other. Guess what Kushal asked the ‘Wishing Wall’ for this week? Gauahar!

Bangladeshi model Asif Azim is the season’s first wild-card entry. The man can’t talk to save his life, but with a body like that, who’s looking to make conversation? Asif bowled us over when he asked Bigg Boss to bring five kilos of “bhalo” rui fish into the house. Trust a Bong to be so fishy!

Next time you need an expert to clean your toilet, holler out for Tanisha. Kajol’s sister seems to be a pro, as was evident from her instructions to a fellow contestant saddled with the unenviable job of cleaning the loo. “Lizol lo, toilet paper pe daalo, seat ke upar wipe karo, seat ke neeche wipe karo....” Now we know why Uday Chopra ran away!
