Spread over 1,200sq ft, Fresco, on the fourth floor of Crescent Tower, 229 AJC Bose Road (opposite Minto Park), houses everything from porcelain and ceramic to bone china tableware, interesting lights, frames and even vases and candles. Launched on September 25, with some select Calcuttans in attendance, the store had t2 browsing for pretty buys. “Our range is varied as it has innovative handcrafted platters, trays, cake stands or even napkins. One can get their customised set by mixing and matching,” said Ritu Gupta, co-director, Fresco.

Frescospeak: Table must-haves

1) The most important thing is table mats. Even if you have basic crockery, if you have a nice mat it jazzes up the table.

2) Flowers in an interesting vase brighten up the space.

3) A centre piece of any kind makes a lot of difference to a table.

4) Lights on or above the table are very important. Dim lights add to the mood.

5) In cutlery, serving spoons are very important.  Steel or silver plates are good choices, but they shouldn’t be too heavy.
