TEA IN A DESSERT

Sour Cherry Vacherin @ The Fatty Bao
Matcha, or powdered green tea leaves, is the hero of this pretty dessert at the Fort Knox outlet. It has sour cherry cream, lemon ash meringue, vanilla bean ice cream and bits of matcha sponge — all these elements combine to give you a flavourful experience.
Rs 320

Green Tea Ice Cream @ Ajisai
The ice cream takes on the colour of matcha. Made with matcha, cream and condensed milk, the Green Tea Ice Cream at the Japanese restaurant in Quest is quite a surprise. It takes on the beautiful colour of green tea, is quite creamy and sweet, and has a hint of bitterness lent by the matcha.
Rs 250

Dark Chocolate Earl Grey Truffle @ Level 7
Desserts laced with tea is trending big in the Calcutta F&B map. At the Topsia chill zone, the chocolate mousse is infused with Earl Grey tea, and garnished with a cherry and a sliver of milk chocolate.
Rs 277

TEA IN A COCKTAIL

Milk Maid Chaitini @ Spice Kraft
Tea leaves brewed with ginger, cardamom and cinnamon, strained, cooled and then shaken with Milkmaid and vodka to create this cocktail which is the closest you can get to having chai and vodka together. Who thought tea and vodka would be such good friends?! We can’t wait to have more of it at the Hazra Road address.
Rs 175

Smokey Wisdom @ The Irish House
The first thing that hits your palate is the cranberry-infused tea and the whisky; plus the aroma of rosemary and Kaffir lime. This drink at the Quest mall outlet comes with some drama, as rosemary and Kaffir lime-infused smoke is added to the main goblet from a side glass.
Rs 590

Gin & Tea @ Ping’s Cafe Orient
A soothing cocktail for summer, Gin & Tea gets its tanginess from the lime juice mixed with the aromatic spiced Earl Grey tea, along with gin, sugar syrup, a sprig of mint, sliced cucumber and orange, at the Middleton Row address.
Rs 445

Peace Tea @ What’s In D Name
Assam tea, bourbon whisky, lime juice, honey and egg white make up this cocktail at the Camac Street pub. The egg white foam combines with the essence of tea and whisky in this fun sip.
Rs 299

Bito No Ne Chado @ Pa Pa Ya
This one’s a tea-based cocktail, and served just like tea — in a teacup. The dark red drink at the modern Asian bistro on Park Street is made with lemon ginger tea, beetroot concoction, orange curacao and vodka, with a slice of dehydrated orange on the side. While beetroot makes it sweet, the lemon ginger tea adds citrusy notes. The slightly bitter and crunchy orange slice helps balance all the flavours.
Rs 565

TEA IN A NIBBLE

Jasmine Tea Infused Honey Smoked Spare Ribs @ Yauatcha
Infused with jasmine tea smoke and glazed with soy honey, the spare ribs are as good to taste as they look. The sweet and sticky honey and the smoky flavour of jasmine tea make this dish a standout at the Quest mall restaurant.
Rs 1,265
