Calcutta, June 29: Printing solutions company Epson India aims to earn Rs 1,000 crore in revenues by 2014-15. The company plans to clock a 25 per cent growth this fiscal, up from Rs 703 crore last year.

Epson is expecting steady business from its ink jet printers and is betting on its mono ink tank inkjet range to save costs and build market.

“If you look at the Indian printer market scenario, 30 lakh printers are sold annually. Of this, 3 lakh, or about 9.8 per cent, are dot matrix printers, while 12 lakh units are contributed by inkjet printers,” said S.M. Ramprasad, deputy general manager (consumer products group), Epson India.

“Laser printers dominate the market occupying 50 per cent, or 15 lakh units, sold. Within lasers, 92 per cent are mono lasers that print black and white documents and 8 per cent are colour lasers. Black and white is an area where there is a lot of scope,” he said.
