Madhubani, Jan. 31 (PTI): A woman was burnt to death allegedly by her husband and parents-in-law at Nahar Badhai tola under Pandaul police station in Madhubani today, police said.

The incident occurred after the deceased allegedly could not bring more dowry for her in-laws.

The woman, identified as Anju Kumari (23), died at a hospital today, deputy superintendent of police (Sadar), Karmlal said. Before her death she had given a statement charging her husband and in-laws with setting her on fire for dowry yesterday, he said.

The deceased’s husband and her in-laws were arrested.
